What is Storywell?
Storywell Collective is a nonprofit filmmaking program based in Peoria, Arizona, committed to making film education accessible and career-relevant for diverse youth and emerging creatives. Operating from the 48 Labs studio, Storywell combines hands-on training, mentorship, and industry exposure to bridge the gap between education and employment in film and media arts. Graduates leave with two completed short films, a professional portfolio, and access to internships and job networks.
Our program is built on a sustainable tuition model starting at just $250 and scaling to a full-tier rate of $2,500-$3,250. We offer payment plans, targeted workshops, and operate with a projected monthly expense of ~$16,000 covered through tuition, sponsorships, and donor funding. Equipment partnerships, including pending collaborations with brands like Aputure and RED, aim to provide students access to professional-grade tools and exposure to industry-standard workflows.
Our goal is to become Arizona’s premiere community-based filmmaking incubator, offering an affordable, community-rooted, and industry-relevant pathway into creative careers.
